Residents of Badawa, a rural community in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State, have called on relevant authorities to urgently rehabilitate their primary healthcare centre, which they say has been in a state of disrepair for several years.
Community members expressed concern over the poor condition of the facility, noting that the absence of functional labour wards and hospital beds has forced many pregnant women to deliver their babies on mats laid directly on the floor.
According to residents, the deteriorating state of the health centre has continued to pose serious challenges to healthcare delivery in the area, particularly for women and children who rely on the facility for essential medical services.
The villagers are urging government agencies and other stakeholders to intervene swiftly by renovating the centre and providing the necessary equipment to improve access to quality healthcare in the community.
