The Federal Government has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) Overseas Scholarship Scheme, offering Nigerian postgraduate students the opportunity to pursue master’s and doctoral studies abroad.
The announcement was confirmed on Monday by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Social Media. According to the statement, the scholarship programme will enable successful applicants to study in selected universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Malaysia.
The government said the initiative is aimed at providing access to world-class education, advanced research facilities and global expertise, while strengthening Nigeria’s capacity in the oil and gas sector. Eligible candidates are expected to apply through the official PTDF portal, with further details on requirements and deadlines to be provided by the agency.
