A 16-year-old boy identified as Alex Ansol, a Spanish national, has been found wandering in Dadin Kowa village in Doguwa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The spokesperson of the Kano State Police Command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
According to the police, the teenager said he arrived in Nigeria from Spain on March 30, 2026, through Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, alongside four relatives.
He reportedly explained that the group was traveling to Kano to visit his father, identified as Ansol Fan, but he became separated from them along the Jos–Saminaka road.
The police described Alex as thin, dark-complexioned, and able to communicate in English, noting that he has no tribal marks. He also reportedly provided an address in Spain as “Barsa Rub, Opposite 46 Stadium.”
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to locate his relatives and reunite the family.
The command urged members of the public with useful information about the boy or his relatives to contact the Police Public Relations Office or the Divisional Police Officer in Doguwa.
