Breaking: Female Scholar Eunice Omonzejie Named New AAU VC by Governor Okpebholo

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has officially appointed Professor Eunice Eboserehimen Omonzejie as the new Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma.

The announcement, made public on Monday, confirmed that her appointment was based on the recommendation of the University’s Governing Council, which had submitted three shortlisted candidates for the governor’s consideration.Prof. Omonzejie, a renowned scholar in French and Francophone African Literatures, also has strong academic interests in gender and cultural studies.

She has been a member of AAU’s Department of Modern Languages for years and has played key roles in promoting women’s participation in academia, including serving as President of the Ambrose Alli University chapter of the National Association of Women Academics (NAWACS).

The appointment takes immediate effect, with the state government expressing confidence in her leadership to strengthen academic excellence and institutional reforms at AAU.
