U.S. Slaps Sanctions on Three RSF Commanders Over El-Fasher Atrocities

The United States has announced sanctions against three commanders of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over their alleged involvement in violent operations in El-Fasher.

According to U.S. authorities, the measures target the commanders for their roles in attacks carried out by the paramilitary group, including the killing of civilians, widespread abuses, and the seizure of control over the city.

Officials said the sanctions are part of broader efforts to hold individuals accountable for actions that have worsened the humanitarian situation in the region. The move underscores growing international concern over escalating violence and instability in Sudan.

The RSF has been accused by rights groups and international observers of committing serious violations amid ongoing conflict, further deepening the crisis in Darfur and surrounding areas.
