The Nigerian military has apprehended sixteen of its officers for alleged acts of indiscipline and insubordination reportedly linked to complaints over career stagnation within the armed forces.
According to Sahara Reporters, the officers, who expressed dissatisfaction with delays in promotions and lack of career advancement, were detained after allegedly breaching service rules in their protest.
Sources revealed that the affected personnel are currently undergoing interrogation and will face a court-martial for conduct unbecoming of military officers.
The Nigerian Army has not yet issued an official statement on the matter, but reports suggest that authorities view the actions of the officers as a threat to discipline and hierarchy within the force.
