Severe Flood Warning Issued as Cold Weather Alert Covers Large Parts of England

Authorities have issued severe flood warnings in parts of Wales and England, citing a significant risk to life following days of heavy rain. The alerts were announced for communities along the River Monnow at Skenfrith and Osbaston after water levels rose sharply.

At the same time, the UK Health Security Agency placed five regions – the East Midlands, West Midlands, North East, North West, and Yorkshire and the Humber under a cold weather alert from Monday to Friday as temperatures are expected to fall below freezing.

The warnings follow widespread flooding triggered by Storm Claudia, which brought intense rainfall and travel disruption across many areas. Emergency services remain on standby as authorities urge residents in affected zones to stay cautious.
