Governor Siminalayi Fubara has ordered the immediate dissolution of the Rivers State Pensions Board.
The directive, contained in a Government Special Announcement issued by the Head of Service, Mrs. Inyingi Brown, stated that the responsibilities of the board have been handed over to the State Accountant General until a new board is constituted.
Members of the dissolved board have been directed to surrender all official property and documents in their possession to the Director of Administration of the board.
No reason was given for the decision, but government officials said a new pension board would be announced in due course.
