
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested twelve suspects in connection with the gruesome murder of Somtochukwu Maduagwu, a presenter with Arise Television, and Barnabas Danlami, a security guard at Unique Apartments in Katampe, Abuja.
According to police reports, about fifteen armed men invaded the apartment complex on September 29, shooting the security guard and causing panic among residents. During the attack, Maduagwu reportedly fell from the third floor while attempting to escape and later died from her injuries.
Police spokesperson disclosed that the suspects were apprehended following the tracking of stolen mobile phones linked to the crime scene. One of the suspects, identified as Shamsudeen Hassan, confessed to shooting the security guard during the invasion.
The police added that investigations are still ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang involved in the deadly incident.
