Gaza, September 6, 2025 – The Israeli military has called on residents of Gaza City to evacuate southward in preparation for a planned ground assault aimed at taking control of the enclave’s largest urban area. Civilians were directed to move to the Al‑Mawasi “humanitarian zone” along Gaza’s southern coast, where authorities say basic services such as field hospitals, food, water, and medical supplies are available.
The military stated that relief efforts would continue in collaboration with the United Nations and other international organizations as the ground operation expands.
However, many residents expressed despair over the escalating violence, reporting widespread bombings and casualties even in designated safe areas. “Everywhere in Gaza there are bombings and deaths,” said one resident, while his daughter added, “Wherever we go, death pursues us, whether by bombing or hunger.”
The evacuation order comes amid intensifying Israeli-Palestinian clashes, raising fears of a humanitarian crisis in the already densely populated region.
