Nasarawa Police Detain Pastor After Video of Alleged Bandit Scare at Crusade Emerges

The Nasarawa State Police Command has detained a pastor identified as Evangelist Daniel after he posted a video showing a disruption at a church crusade in Agboda village, reportedly caused by fears of a bandit attack.

In the viral footage, participants were seen fleeing the venue in panic. The video was shared widely on social media, drawing public attention to rising insecurity in parts of the state.

A fellow clergyman, Evangelist Isaac Agada, who publicized the arrest online, claimed Daniel had been in police custody for more than 12 hours as of Wednesday afternoon.

Police authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the arrest or the circumstances surrounding the incident. It also remains unclear whether any actual bandit attack occurred at the event.

The development comes amid increasing concerns over bandit activities and community safety across several regions of the country.
