Bolivia has entered its third straight week of nationwide protests demanding the resignation of President Rodrigo Paz, escalating political tensions less than six months after he assumed office.

The demonstrations, which began over dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of economic and political issues, have intensified across several parts of the country, with protesters blocking major roads and organizing mass rallies in key cities.

Reports indicate that the unrest has placed Bolivia’s political capital under significant pressure, disrupting transportation, commercial activities, and daily life as security forces struggle to contain the growing demonstrations.

Protest leaders accuse the administration of failing to address rising economic hardship, unemployment, inflation, and governance concerns. Some groups have also criticized recent government policies, arguing that citizens have seen little improvement since President Paz took office.

The government, however, has defended its actions and called for calm, insisting that efforts are underway to stabilize the economy and restore order. Authorities have warned that continued blockades and protests could worsen the country’s economic situation and increase social tensions.

The prolonged demonstrations have raised concerns about political stability in Bolivia, with analysts warning that the crisis could further deepen divisions within the South American nation if dialogue between the government and protest groups fails.
