The Federal Workers Forum has threatened to embark on an indefinite nationwide strike, citing worsening insecurity and unresolved wage-related issues affecting workers across the country.
The group accused the Federal Government of failing to address workers’ welfare concerns, including outstanding salary adjustments, unpaid arrears, and the rising cost of living. It also expressed concern over the growing insecurity in several parts of the country, saying workers now live and work under constant fear.
According to the forum, members overwhelmingly supported immediate industrial action during a recent meeting, while calling on labour leaders to intensify engagement with the government to resolve the issues.
The workers are demanding the implementation of a living wage, payment of outstanding entitlements, and urgent measures to tackle the nation’s security challenges.
