Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South and once chaired the Senate Committee on Army, has argued that changing service chiefs will not bring an end to the Boko Haram crisis.
Speaking on the persistent insecurity in the North-East, Ndume said the insurgency is too complex to be solved by simply replacing military leaders. He stressed that Nigeria needs a well-coordinated strategy, improved resources for troops, and a long-term plan that addresses both the security and humanitarian dimensions of the conflict.
According to him, blaming service chiefs for the prolonged insurgency oversimplifies the deep-rooted nature of terrorism in the region.
