A fuel-laden tanker went up in flames on the Ogun Expressway on Thursday, leaving several people feared dead and others injured.
Eyewitnesses said the tanker lost control before bursting into flames, engulfing nearby vehicles and trapping road users in the inferno. Emergency responders, including firefighters and security agencies, rushed to the scene to contain the blaze and rescue victims.
Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of casualties, but witnesses described the incident as “devastating,” with multiple lives and properties lost.
Traffic along the busy expressway was brought to a standstill as rescue operations continued.
