Tambuwal Visits Ex-AGF Malami at Kuje Prison as New Officer Assumes DutyAbuja, Nigeria

Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has paid a visit to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja, where Malami is currently being held over an ongoing money laundering trial.

The visit comes amid heightened attention surrounding the former justice minister’s legal battle, which has drawn significant public and political interest.

Sources at the facility confirmed that Tambuwal met with Malami during an official visit on the same day a new officer formally assumed command of the Kuje Correctional Centre.

While details of their discussion were not disclosed, the visit has generated widespread reactions, particularly given the political stature of both men and the sensitivity of the case involving the former attorney-general.

Malami is currently facing trial on allegations related to financial misconduct, which prosecutors say involve large sums of public funds. He has, however, denied the charges.

Officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service said security at the facility remains intact, stressing that due process will be followed in handling all inmates regardless of their status.
The case continues to attract national attention as proceedings progress in court.
