Former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing the worsening internal crisis within the party.
In a resignation letter made available in Abuja, Tambuwal stated that he had formally withdrawn his membership from the PDP. The letter, obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria, indicated that his decision was prompted by the persistent challenges and divisions currently affecting the party.
Tambuwal, a former governor of Sokoto State and one-time Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, said the situation within the party had made it difficult for him to continue his political activities under its platform.
His resignation adds to the ongoing political developments within the opposition party as it grapples with internal disagreements and leadership disputes.
