The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
The suspect was apprehended after the guardians of the victim reported the incident to the police. Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said the suspect is currently in custody.
He explained that investigations are ongoing and assured that the case will be charged to court once inquiries are concluded.
The Command urged members of the public to promptly report cases of sexual assault or suspected abuse, stressing its commitment to protecting vulnerable persons, especially children.
