Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, has attributed the widespread vote buying observed in the ongoing Anambra governorship election to bad governance and poor leadership.
Speaking after casting his vote at Polling Unit 019 in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area, on Saturday, the former Anambra State governor expressed concern over the deepening influence of money in Nigeria’s electoral process.
Obi lamented that the practice of exchanging votes for cash reflects the failure of leaders to deliver good governance and improve citizens’ welfare.
He called on Nigerians to reject corrupt practices during elections and to support leaders who prioritize integrity, accountability, and development.
