The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Waidi Shaibu, has disclosed that Nigeria has deployed troops to the Republic of Benin as part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and other transnational crimes within the sub-region.
Shaibu said the deployment is aimed at strengthening regional security cooperation and addressing cross-border security threats affecting West Africa.
He noted that the move forms part of broader military collaboration designed to enhance stability and curb the activities of criminal networks operating across national boundaries.
