Troops of the Defence Special Operations Force (DSOF) neutralized a suspected armed criminal during a targeted operation at Afia Market in Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State, on Wednesday. The suspect was among a group allegedly robbing traders in the bustling market.
The military intervention disrupted the criminal activities, restoring calm to the area. In addition to neutralizing the threat, DSOF personnel provided security escorts to local farmers, ensuring safe access to their farmlands amid ongoing insecurity concerns.
Authorities stated that the operation is part of broader efforts to curb criminality and protect residents in the region. The military continues to maintain a presence in Ukum to ensure stability and support the local community.
