Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has congratulated two indigenes of the state, Bello Shehu and Dankombo Morris Fallings, following their promotion to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs) in the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement issued on Friday by the Director-General of Press Affairs at Government House, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, the governor described the promotion as a deserving recognition of the officers’ dedication, professionalism and distinguished service in the police.
The governor noted that both senior officers have built impressive careers defined by discipline, integrity and commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the country.
He recalled their performances while serving as Commissioners of Police in different states, stating that Shehu demonstrated strong operational leadership and effective policing during his tenure in Katsina State.
Yahaya also commended Fallings for his strategic leadership while serving as Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State.
The governor said the people and government of Gombe State are proud of the officers’ achievements, describing their elevation as a moment of honour for the state.
He added that Shehu hails from Gombe Local Government Area, while Fallings is from Kaltungo Local Government Area.
Governor Yahaya urged the newly promoted AIGs to view their elevation as a call to greater responsibility and continue to uphold professionalism, integrity and patriotism in the discharge of their duties.
