The Gona Emirate has donated food items and clothing to 40 orphaned children in Gombe, in a humanitarian effort aimed at supporting vulnerable members of the community.
The gesture was initiated by the Emir of Gona, Umar Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, and delivered through a delegation from the Emirate that visited an orphanage home to present the items and interact with the children.
Speaking during the visit, the Emirate’s Secretary, Attahiru Mohammed Bello, who led the delegation, said the initiative was meant to show love and provide support to the children while improving their welfare. He disclosed that 18 boys and 22 girls benefited from the donation.
Bello noted that the outreach reflects the Emirate’s commitment to humanitarian service and responsibility towards less privileged members of society. He also conveyed the Emir’s call for individuals, philanthropists, and organisations to support orphanages and similar institutions to help improve the lives of vulnerable children.
Members of the delegation included Abdulkadir Yahya, the Sarkin Shanun Gona, alongside other community representatives. Community members described the visit as a reminder of the importance of compassion and collective responsibility in caring for the less privileged.
