The Federal Government, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has unveiled a new economic framework known as the Dis-Inflation and Growth Acceleration Strategy (DGAS) aimed at driving down inflation and spurring economic growth.
Announcing the initiative in a post on X on Wednesday, Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, said the strategy is targeted at reducing inflation to a single digit, accelerating national growth, and doubling household incomes within the next two years.
According to Olusegun, the DGAS seeks to raise Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate above seven percent, achieve single-digit inflation, and cut poverty through a harmonised approach between fiscal and monetary policies.
