Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has denied reports suggesting he intends to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race in favor of another aspirant.
In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, Atiku dismissed interpretations of his recent BBC Hausa interview, insisting that neither the transcript nor video of the discussion contained such claims.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain clarified that while he welcomes the participation of young and other presidential hopefuls, he never indicated readiness to cede his ambition. He, however, maintained that he would support any candidate who emerges through a transparent and credible primary process.
Atiku described the circulating reports as misrepresentations, emphasizing that he remains firmly committed to his political aspirations ahead of the 2027 elections.
