Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has painted a grim picture of life for his officers, lamenting that they live in broken-down barracks, lack patrol vehicles, and struggle with manpower shortages.
Speaking in Yola on Monday during the visit of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Akinwale Adeniran, the CP also decried weak communication systems and inadequate training opportunities that continue to hamper effective policing.
Despite these challenges, Morris pointed out that the command has made significant gains since he assumed office in February last year, including the arrest of notorious kidnappers and armed robbers, recovery of sophisticated and locally made firearms, and the rescue of kidnapped and trafficked children.
Responding, AIG Adeniran commended the efforts of the command and urged residents to see security as a shared responsibility by providing timely intelligence to help police curb crime.
