The US State Department has confirmed the cancellation of the visa of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and 80 other Palestinian officials.

This decision will prevent Mahmoud Abbas from attending the upcoming UN summit scheduled for next month in Washington, US.

At the summit, it was expected that many countries would express support for recognizing Palestine as an independent state, which is the main aspiration of the people in the region.

Israel, however, has remained firm in its stance that Palestine should not be granted full independence as a sovereign nation, and it continues to receive strong backing from the US.
