Two Convicted for Murder of Kano University Lecturer, Sentenced to Death by Hanging

A Kano State High Court has sentenced two men to death by hanging for the murder of a lecturer at the Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

The court, presided over by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu, found the convicts guilty of culpable homicide after reviewing evidence presented by the prosecution linking them to the brutal killing.

According to court records, the lecturer was attacked and killed during a violent incident that shocked the academic community. The judge ruled that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt, warranting the death penalty.

The verdict has drawn mixed reactions across Kano, with some residents praising the decision as a step toward justice, while others called for continued reform of Nigeria’s criminal justice system.
