ABUJA – National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu on Monday received a high-level United States delegation led by the newly appointed US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Frank Garcia, as both countries moved to strengthen bilateral security cooperation.
The meeting focused on expanding collaboration between Nigeria and the United States in addressing terrorism, transnational crime, intelligence sharing, and other regional security challenges. The visit marked Garcia’s first official trip to Nigeria since assuming office as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs.
The engagement underscores the growing security relationship between Abuja and Washington, following a series of high-level discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing regional stability and strengthening defence cooperation.
The talks are expected to further reinforce ongoing efforts by both governments to deepen strategic partnerships in tackling insecurity and promoting peace across Nigeria and the wider West African region.
