The Nigeria Police Force has asked the Federal High Court to issue a warrant of arrest against former senator, Andy Uba, over an alleged ₦400 million job scam.
According to the police, Uba is accused of defrauding a businessman under the pretext of securing him the position of Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, filed the request, noting that Uba and two others had previously been charged but had failed to appear in court.
The police said the defendants initially obtained a court order restraining their arraignment, but the order has since been vacated, clearing the way for their trial.The case has been adjourned until February 18, 2025, for further proceedings.
