Kano State is set to vaccinate more than seven million children as part of a nationwide immunisation campaign against measles-rubella and polio, health officials have announced.
The exercise, scheduled to commence on October 6, will target approximately 7.8 million children aged nine months to 14 years for measles-rubella vaccination, while an additional 3.9 million under-five children will be immunised against polio.
The Federal Government, in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Kano State Government, UNICEF, WHO, and other partners, is spearheading the campaign.
Authorities say the effort is aimed at curbing outbreaks and achieving high coverage through strong community mobilisation, with over 3,000 vaccination teams deployed across the state.
