The Minister of Defence has disclosed that Nigerian soldiers now earn a minimum monthly salary of N100,000 following a recent review of personnel welfare.
The minister said the salary adjustment forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to improve the welfare and morale of members of the Armed Forces amid ongoing security operations across the country.
According to him, the review is aimed at enhancing the living conditions of military personnel while recognising their sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and combating insecurity.
He added that the government remains committed to introducing additional welfare measures to strengthen the operational effectiveness and motivation of the country’s armed forces.
