Nicki Minaj Backs Trump’s Claim on Alleged Persecution of Christians in Nigeria

American rap star Nicki Minaj has echoed U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial claim that Christians are facing “genocide” in Nigeria — a position the Nigerian government has repeatedly dismissed as false.

The 42-year-old artist made the remarks during a Tuesday dialogue in New York, organized and hosted by U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz.
Minaj publicly thanked Trump for what she described as his “strong commitment” to addressing the concerns surrounding alleged attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria.

Officials in Abuja have continued to deny the allegations, insisting that violence in the country is driven by criminality and insurgency, not religious persecution.
