Social media influencer Blessing CEO has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over an alleged N36 million fraud case in Lagos.
The anti-graft agency brought the influencer before the Federal High Court on a two-count charge bordering on alleged fraudulent financial transactions amounting to N36 million.
During the court proceedings, Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against her by the commission.
Counsel to the EFCC urged the court to remand the defendant pending the commencement of trial, while the defence team appealed for bail on liberal terms.
After listening to submissions from both parties, the court adjourned the matter to a later date for hearing and ruling on the bail application.
The case has attracted public attention due to Blessing CEO’s strong presence on social media, where she is known for relationship and lifestyle commentary.
