The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a 30-day visa-free entry policy for citizens of Rwanda, in a move aimed at strengthening diplomatic and regional ties between both African nations.
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), in a statement released on Friday, confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the implementation of the policy.
According to the agency, the decision follows a directive issued by President Bola Tinubu as part of efforts to promote easier movement, tourism, trade, and cooperation within Africa.
The new policy comes as a reciprocal gesture after Rwanda previously granted Nigerians a 30-day visa-free entry into the country.
Officials say the development is expected to deepen bilateral relations and encourage increased economic and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Rwanda.
