A tragic road accident in Lagos has claimed the life of a man and left his wife critically injured after a truck loaded with granite crushed their car at Eleko Junction.
The incident occurred when the heavy-duty truck reportedly lost control and fell onto the couple’s vehicle, causing severe damage. Eyewitnesses said the impact trapped the occupants inside the car before emergency responders arrived.
The man was confirmed dead at the scene, while his wife was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. She is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority and other emergency agencies were deployed to the scene to clear the wreckage and restore traffic flow.
Authorities have begun investigations to determine the cause of the accident, as concerns continue to grow over the safety of heavy trucks on major roads in the state.
