Gunmen Kill FRSC Officer in Katsina, Victim Identified as Lawmaker’s Brother


An officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has been killed by suspected gunmen in Katsina State, according to local sources.


The victim, identified as Ibrahim Dalhatu Tafoki, was reportedly attacked while traveling along a road in Faskari Local Government Area.

The assailants are said to have shot him at close range before fleeing the scene with his motorcycle.
Tafoki was confirmed to be the younger brother of Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Kankara–Faskari–Sabua Federal Constituency.


The incident has heightened concerns over security in the area, which has experienced repeated attacks linked to armed criminal groups despite ongoing peace and security initiatives.


As of the time of filing this report, authorities had not released an official statement on the attack, and no arrests have been announced
