Lawmakers Clash in House Over Proposal to Invite Tinubu on Constituency Project Funding

The House of Representatives was thrown into a heated session on Wednesday following a motion seeking to invite President Bola Tinubu to address lawmakers over the alleged non-funding of constituency projects.

The motion, sponsored by a member of the House, sparked sharp disagreements among lawmakers, with opposing views triggering a rowdy exchange on the floor of the chamber.

While supporters of the motion argued that the President should explain the delays affecting constituency project implementation, other lawmakers maintained that the responsibility for funding and executing such projects lies with the relevant ministries, departments, and agencies, not the President.

As tensions escalated, Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, intervened to restore order and directed that the matter be decided through a vote.
