Yusuf Buhari, son of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency seat in Katsina State.
The APC primary, held ahead of the forthcoming bye-election, saw Yusuf Buhari defeat other contenders, including the son of a former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Party delegates reportedly voted in favour of Yusuf Buhari, securing his emergence as the APC candidate to represent the constituency in the election.
The development marks Yusuf Buhari’s first major step into active partisan politics, years after his father completed his tenure as Nigeria’s president.
