
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the killing of a senior ISIS commander during a joint counterterrorism operation carried out by Nigerian and United States forces.
According to reports, the operation led to the elimination of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, described as a top-ranking ISIS figure and one of the group’s key commanders. The mission was reportedly conducted through coordinated intelligence and military collaboration between both countries.
Tinubu praised the success of the operation, describing it as a major step in the fight against terrorism and a strong example of international security cooperation. The Nigerian leader also acknowledged the support of the administration of Donald Trump in the mission.
