Six Israeli Soldiers Killed in Separate Attacks in Gaza and Jordan

The Israeli military has confirmed that six of its soldiers were killed in two separate incidents in Gaza and at the Jordanian border.

According to a military statement, four soldiers died and three others were injured when their vehicle struck an explosive device in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza.

In a separate attack, officials said a Jordanian man driving an aid truck opened fire on Israeli troops at the King Hussein crossing on the Jordan-Israel border. Two soldiers were killed in the assault before the attacker stabbed others. The assailant was later shot dead by a security guard.

Jordanian authorities have since closed the crossing referred to in Israel as the Allenby Bridge citing heavy traffic and security concerns.
