DRC Confirms Ebola Outbreak as 65 Dead, Over 240 Suspected Cases Reported in Ituri Province

Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have confirmed a new Ebola outbreak in Ituri province, with 65 fatalities and at least 246 suspected cases recorded so far, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

Ebola, a severe and often deadly viral disease, spreads through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, contaminated objects, or individuals who have died from the infection.

Health officials say response measures are being intensified as efforts continue to contain the spread and trace contacts in affected communities.

The situation has raised renewed concern over outbreak control in the region, which has previously experienced multiple Ebola flare-ups.
