BREAKING: Armed Group Storms Kwara Community After Christmas, Abducts Seven and Injures Others

IFelodun LGA, Kwara State – Gunmen suspected to be terrorists or bandits attacked the Adanla community in Igbaja Ward 2 on Friday evening, a day after Christmas, leaving residents in fear and mourning, Sahara Reporters has reported.

According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants stormed the community in large numbers around 7:30 p.m., firing sporadic gunshots and forcibly entering homes.

The attackers abducted seven residents during the raid and injured several others, including a young girl who was reported to be seriously wounded and fighting for her life.

Residents described the incident as devastating, saying the usually peaceful community was thrown into panic and uncertainty as families were left searching for missing loved ones.

As of press time, it was unclear whether security forces had launched a rescue operation or made any arrests, and attempts to obtain an official statement from the Kwara State Police Command were unsuccessful.

The attack comes amid a broader pattern of insecurity in parts of Kwara State, where armed groups have carried out kidnappings and violent raids on rural communities in recent months.
