At least 18 farmers have been reportedly killed and several others injured following a deadly attack on Kawel village in Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State.
According to reports, the attack occurred around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, when suspected assailants stormed the community, unleashing violence that left multiple casualties. Several residents also sustained injuries, while many others were forced to flee for safety.
The latest incident has heightened concerns over the persistent insecurity in parts of Plateau State, particularly in Bokkos LGA, which has witnessed a series of violent attacks in recent months.
Security agencies and local authorities are yet to provide an official statement on the attack, while community leaders have called for urgent intervention to prevent further loss of lives.
