The education sector in Zamfara State continues to deteriorate as pupils in several public schools are reportedly learning on bare floors due to a lack of basic classroom furniture and infrastructure.
According to a report by Sahara Reporters, many schools across the state have fallen into severe disrepair, with dilapidated buildings, broken roofs, and inadequate learning materials posing serious challenges to effective teaching and learning.
Parents and community members expressed concern over the government’s neglect of public education, noting that the situation has left pupils exposed to harsh weather conditions and discouraged school attendance.
Teachers also lamented poor working conditions and the absence of essential facilities, which they say have contributed to declining academic performance in the state.
Despite repeated promises by the Zamfara State Government to revamp the education system, little progress appears to have been made, leaving thousands of pupils to study under deplorable conditions.
