The Kano State
Government has said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf consulted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the approval of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The Director General of Media and Public Relations at the Kano Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this during an interview on Arise TV.
According to him, Kwankwaso and former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, were fully aware of the move and had given their support.
The development comes amid growing political speculation over possible political realignments ahead of future contests in Kano State and across Nigeria.
