Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Gombe State.
Pantami announced his withdrawal from the race, citing alleged violations of electoral guidelines and lack of transparency in the party’s internal electoral process.
According to him, the decision followed consultations with his supporters and key stakeholders, adding that the party failed to provide the necessary information and guidelines required to ensure a credible primary election ahead of the exercise scheduled for May 21, 2026.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by Barrister Ibrahim M. Attahir on behalf of the Pantamiyya Movement, Pantami said that despite his loyalty to the APC and compliance with all requirements for the contest, concerns raised by his team over the conduct of the primary process were ignored.
The former minister also expressed appreciation to youths, women, and other supporters who backed his ambition, particularly those who contributed financially toward the purchase of his nomination form.
He, however, urged his supporters to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, noting that the Pantamiyya Movement would announce its next line of action in due course.
