Bandits have released three residents of Olle-Bunu community in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State after collecting three motorcycles as additional ransom.
The victims, who were abducted earlier this year, were the last remaining captives held by the armed group. Community sources confirmed that their release followed negotiations that led to the delivery of the motorcycles demanded by the abductors.
Local residents expressed relief over the safe return of the victims but raised concerns over the continued use of ransom payments, including motorcycles, by criminal groups operating in the area.
The incident adds to growing security challenges in parts of Kogi State, where cases of kidnapping and banditry have persisted despite ongoing security efforts.
