The management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has uncovered a syndicate allegedly involved in forging the institution’s certificates and result slips.
According to a statement issued by the school’s management, the forgers had been producing fake documents bearing different names and academic programmes purportedly offered by the institution.
The polytechnic said the discovery was made following an internal investigation aimed at curbing academic fraud and protecting the school’s reputation. Authorities have reportedly identified some of the individuals involved and handed their details over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The management warned members of the public to beware of fraudulent agents claiming to represent the institution, stressing that all genuine certificates and transcripts are issued only through the approved channels of the polytechnic.
The statement reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that its qualifications remain credible and respected.
