The Jigawa State Government has successfully immunised about 300,000 children against life-threatening diseases as part of its ongoing public health campaign.
The exercise, carried out through the Jigawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, targeted children between the ages of nine months and 14 years across all 27 local government areas of the state.
According to health officials, the campaign aimed to protect children from preventable diseases such as measles, rubella, polio, and human papillomavirus (HPV). The exercise was supported by local and international health partners committed to eradicating child-killer diseases in Nigeria.
Parents and caregivers were urged to ensure their children complete all vaccination schedules to enhance immunity and reduce child mortality rates in the state.
Officials described the campaign as part of the government’s wider effort to strengthen primary healthcare services and achieve universal health coverage for children in Jigawa.
